Getting a Midi Trigger to happen once

Hey Ya'll
I got strange situation and I have a feeling there isnt an answer to it but I thought I would try
So I have a Midi light sensor that when one of our live performers walks over it starts a video projection on the wall.
My issue is, I only want this to happen once and not every time someone walks over the light sensor.
Is there a way to create a Midi trigger that will only happen once per session? I know this could be done manually but it would be nice to have this feature.
