Mono Channels Send to a Group Track with Stereo Effects or Vice-Vers

Hey everyone,

I'm quite confused about the group track in Ableton and if it acts as an auxiliary track or not. As I see it, any signals/tracks you have under a group/bus will be sent directly to it with all of their inserts as opposed to a return track that only gets a copy. However, I am still confused about whether this will change a mono track into stereo. So, for example, I have a drum group or bus with a kick that's mono and it gets sent to the drums bus that has a stereo saturator, converting the drum group to stereo. A reason for that may be that I want the hi-hats or open hats to be stereo while keeping the kick and snare in mono.

I've read somewhere that whatever you route to the group will remain according to what it was, so if it was mono it will remain mono even if the group track is stereo. Is that indeed the case? Will that also hold for a stereo track within the drums bus as an open hat that is routed to a mono group track? Will it remain stereo?

Thanks!

the internal routing between devices in Live is always stereo. true mono (single channel) signals are converted into a stereo signals with identical left + right channels:

Well, you might have already found an answer to your question. Sometimes the questions are more important than the answers, are they not?
