Mapping Multiple Control Buttons On Launchpad Mk3

So I've run into a bit of an issue with my launchpad lately, essentially I'm trying to map all 8 of the control buttons on the right side to one macro, but it seems that you can only map one control button per macro, whereas with note buttons you can map a range of multiple buttons to one macro. I'm almost certain that this was possible on the older Launchpad models and that the buttons on the right side of the grid were considered note buttons instead of control. If anybody knows how to do this or if there's a workaround, please let me know. Thanks!
