Can anyone tell me, please, whether instrument packs such as String Quartet or the other ensembles allow you to extract individual instruments? I would like to be able to use violin etc on its own. Is this possible, or do you have to play all the instruments together.

You can pretty much do what you want with them as you get access to individual samples.
