Hellooooo
I have a MacBook with Ableton 10.1.43. Just bough Grain Scanner from Amazing Noises and whenever I drag it into a track, Ableton just crashes 💀
This is what I found in the log.txt:

2023-01-17T22:49:40.817048: info: Performance: Startup hook 'ShowLessonAppStartupHook': Running time: 14 ms
2023-01-17T22:49:40.832803: info: Performance: Startup hook 'InitializeContentLibrary': Running time: 0 ms
2023-01-17T22:49:40.870844: info: Performance: Startup hook 'StartLibraryRescan': Running time: 0 ms
2023-01-17T22:49:40.875969: info: Performance: Startup hook 'FetchDownloadablePackListFromWeb': Running time: 0 ms
2023-01-17T22:49:40.884226: info: Performance: Startup hook 'EndAuthorizationSession': Running time: 0 ms
2023-01-17T22:49:41.228165: info: Performance: Startup hook 'EnableMidiRemoteScriptManager': Running time: 335 ms

After that there is nothing. Does anyone has the same issue? I spent 49€ on this, would be a bummer......

It'd be probably more helpful to directly ask Support.
Are you sure you've downloaded the Packs' L10 version, not the L11 one?

Ohhhh that could be it! I just used the test version of Ableton 11 and it works!
Might just spent a lil money on the upgrade now 😅

Edit: Where do I get the Grain Scanner for Ableton 10 tho?

I have been having the same problem. I downloaded the version for Ableton Live 10 (as linked above) and it crashes whenever I try to use it.
Im using Ableton 10.1.43
On a new Macbook pro, with M2 chip, running OS Sonoma 14.0 (this is a recent update and it also it didn't work on previous OS ventura).
Really don't want to spend more ££ on upgrading to 11 if I don't have to!
Did anyone find a fix for this, or is it a mac-specific bug?

I cannot be certain because I use an Intel Mac, but I suspect that the Live 10 version of Grain Scanner probably uses built-in external Max objects which weren’t built for Mac ARM chips (i.e., M1 or M2).

If this is correct, it might work if you run Live using Rosetta.

To add to this, in general it doesn't make a lot of sense to run L10 on a silicon mac, it's really not optimised for it. It works ok thx to Rosetta, but you can't expect it to be perfect.
It also sounds a bit counterintuitive to spend thousands on a powerful machine, but keep on running "outdated" software versions that can't take advantage of the insane amount of available power.
