have been using and love 9.7.7 64 bit forever, bought 10 with free update to 11 and never loaded it because was always in middle of projects and talked myself out of it due to early bugs etc. now between projects and want to get on with it. basic question is: will it just update 9 to 11 or should i leave 9 on in case i have glitches with 11 (compatibility with old plug in's etc.)
and will it just grab my plug-in locations and repopulate the 11 with them and retain any other choices i made to 9

using pc , windows 10pro, focusrite saffire interface currently live 9.7.7 64 bit

If you want to be on the safe side, just make sure to save new versions of your sets for L11, and keep the old L9 versions in a warm and secure place
Other than that it should be pretty transparent.

thanks for your reply. so i can assume it will repopulate my plug-in's etc. and i shouldn't bother keeping both 9 and 11 on my computer?

Yep, it should be seamless.
And yes, just keep both versions.

so just so i'm clear. when i download the 11 version from ableton i just install that and it will automatically leave the 9.7.7 version on the computer if i don't manually delete it and will populate the 11 version with files staying in same folders they already are? sorry if i sound naive but just don't want to mess it up. thanks.

Yes, installing Live 11 should leave your Live 9 application alone and update Live 11 with all your own Live 9 settings and files. Should anyway.
