Hello!
I've watched tutorials about how you can use Reason instruments as VSTs in Ableton. Amazing! But it requires Reason 11, cos there's a Reason pack you can use in Live.

Is there a way to do that with Reason 10? A way to connect devices from reason into a midi track in Ableton, so that you can use automation in Ableton to modify the audio coming from reason?

No, only by Rewire it used to work.

Reason 11 dropped Rewire all together, so you can use it with Reason 10 I guess. It will not be the same as using the RRP from 11 or above, but it will be that you use two DAW's at the same time........

I have to say, I never used it that way, but it should be possible, I skipped from Reason 4 to 11 suite, and later on to 12........

Thanks! Yep, I just saw that... what a drag....

I still have Live 10 though. Would you point me towards a tutorial showing how to do that? Reason 10 rewired into Live 10, and write automation for Reason instruments? I have no idea how to connect the reason instrument to a Live midi track.... Sorry, that kind of feature is totally new to me.

I know it is possible, never done it myself.

For what I understand from it is that you start Live10 first, activate rewire and start Reason 10 after that.

You cannot send midi from and to Reason, automation has to be done from within Reason 10. Rewire is a sort of start together and stop together. And some audio channels appear in Live if all is alright. That is all I know about it, to use them together is the reason to wait and buy Reason 11 at that time. Using the RRP plugin Rack is far more easy to do, and save a lot of hassles.

I would wait for a discount week, and upgrade to perpetual Reason 12.
