Looper Quantization issues

I was having an issue where controlling the Looper effect with my midi controller would often lead to loops of unintentionally long or short lenghths.
I turned off "delay compensation" and that seems to have fixed things as now my button presses always line up with the beat.
With delay compensation off, all my sync still seems to be good. But in the future I feel like I may need to turn Delay Compensation back on. If so, how would I fix this issue with Looper?
