MIDI Drums — how to prevent accidental retriggering within certain timeframe

Post by shewchuckles » Sat Mar 18, 2023 5:02 pm

Hello! I’ve rigged up some MIDI drums to Ableton, but the effect is that even with a gentle accidental tap, the midi note is triggered several times at full volume. It sounds very unnatural, and would require a lot of cleanup after the fact. Is there an easy way to prevent the same midi note from being triggered more than once within, for example, 2-3 ms?

Thank you.

use the threshold setting of your controller. don‘t rely on cleanup.

Thanks, tried this already. Doesn’t seem to impact midi out signal.

Guess so. Was hoping maybe it was something that could be easily remedied.

All good, thanks for the input!
