Adding Packs never seems to complete

New Ableton Live user here running Windows 11

Adding packs to Ableton (drag and drop onto the browser) results in a message popup with a progress bar that never seems to complete.

The message reads "Synchronizing browser and library configuration", the progress bar goes to either 98% or 100% but never moves past.

Clicking the cancel button seems to close the window and the pack then appears in the browser but what I'm trying to work out is if cancelling this seeming stuck window is causing any issues ?

Thanks in advance.

Do you have enough free HD space?

Yes, HDD space isn't an issue - It looks like the packs are installing properly just that the message never updates.

Great.
I've seen the same thing happening a lot here lately. I wonder what's causing this.

I have exactly the same issue, after waiting for 10 minutes or more at 98% I just cancelled the thing and to be sure restart live and the pack is there, happning with packs that are for older and newer versions of Live

Support came back to me today about this. Looks like they have tested themselves and raised an internal issue for engineering to look at in 11.2
They have suggested a possible workaround at the moment is to install 11.1.6 alongside and use that to install packs.

I'm not sure whether my case could be applied to your cases but since I just solved this same problem, I want to share what I've done.

1. Collect All and Save
First of all, in my case, I haven't done " Collect All and Save" before "Manage Files"
So I did "Collect All and Save" before "Manage Files"

2. File -> Manage Files -> Manage Project -> External Files -> Collect Into Project -> Check "Yes"
In my case, I have downloaded bunch of 'External packs'.
So I need to check "yes" to include those samples.

After then, the error message didn't show up nor files are missed.

I hope that my solution could be helpful.

----

When I opend the file even if I pushed the cancel button when the error message stuck at 98%, the file worked except for missing files.
So, in my opinion, I think the reason of this error message could be 'missing file' I guess.

Hi,

same issue here. And still with Ableton Live 11.3.2.
But it seems, that clicking Cancel leads to no problem and the Pack gets fully installed.

Regards, Stefan

Are you also using Windows?

The pack indeed gets fully installed. It's the indexer that hangs at the end. As a result, so some content might not be visible in the browser. This is added later when the indexer kicks in.
