Mapping from *track* input to macro controls?

Hello, I would like to control device macros from *track input*. I am wondering if this is possible, rather than having to map with the standard midi map functionality which means the macro is hard mapped to one particular input device, channel, and CC.
The use case is that I have midi CC messages created in an M4L device and sent out the midiout object, meaning they then go to any devices further down that track's device list. I am able to get a specific soft synth to pick up the messages, but is possible to have the Live macros do likewise?
