Midi out from a Max audio instrument?

Hi, can anyone tell me if the (newish) midi routing facilities mean that is is possible for me to send midi out to particular from device from a M4L device that is an audio instrument? (Suffice it to say I have unavoidable reasons this needs to be an audio instrument for CV output). I am hoping to avoid using a send object that routes to a receive on another Live track who's sole job is to send things to the IAC bus.

If I understand right, then no. And it’s a shame.
You can send MIDI to a Max Audio Effect but not to a Max Midi Effect or Instrument. I miss this so much.
Please send a feature request !

An instrument having MIDI out to outside Live seems possible.

Just tested by copypasting the stuff from the MIDI Routing Output.amxd device into a new Max Instrument, seems to work.

Had to copy the subpatchers from "Documents\Max 8\Max for Live Devices\MIDI Monitor Project\patchers" into the same folder as the new saved Max Instrument (I only learned this is a thing with the lessons in the new Building Max Devices pack, now my copypaste game is much stronger).

BTW, the Building Max Devices also has a MIDI Routing Output.amxd example (though I did not reach the routing lessons yet, maybe it has more info about 11's routing).

After a check, it's possible with an Instrument. Not with an Midi Effect.
