Shortcut to move a clip down or up to adjacent track?

When recording vocals I need to quickly move the recorded clip down to an empty audio track below to free up the vocal track to record again. I would imagine it would be as simple as Ctrl+down but it doesn't move it, only highlights the same space in the track below. I looked multiple places and couldn't find an answer.
