Anyone else having this issue? 5 times in the last two days, pressing the Capture Midi button has caused Ableton to insta-crash. Very sad because I rely on this feature heavily.

Yes, same issue here. Almost every time I use the MIDI capture function (Push 2 or Push 3), Ableton crashes completely. Super annoying.

Can you please post what version of Live you're using, what OS, etc?

Not sure, but sounds related.. Live crashed several times yesterday when trying to map new midi devices in midi-map mode.

Haven't noticed this before. On the other hand I'm not sure if this was the first time I had to set up new midi devices with the newest Live version.

Live 11.3.2.
OSX Ventura

Probably best to contact support to see if they can help track down the issue: https://www.ableton.com/en/help/#contact-support

I've also encountered the same issue. I noticed it only happens when I have reduced latency when monitoring turned on.

Anyone having Serum/Oeksound spiff/ Output Arcade plugin in their set when this crash happens?

this could be it, ive only recently started using reduced latency and before that I have never had an issue with midi capture

It seems to have a role, but it needs another ingredient, probably some 3rd party plugins. Hence my question above.

I'm almost certain Serum is always in my session when this happens.

That seems to be a common denominator in the other similar reports I've heard of.
Don't forget to report to Support

This happens to me all the time, 100% reproducible. Do have reduced latency while monitoring enabled. Do have serum in the set, but I just tried after deleting the serum with the same effect

Which Live version are you currently using?
Did you report to Support?
