Updated to 11.3.2, now sits on "Starting Max.." for ages
So my Live did the auto update to 11.3.2 this morning. Now when starting Live it sits on "Starting Max" for almost 30 seconds - previously it was pretty instant. Also takes forever to open the edit window when editing a M4L device.
Running on an M1 Macbook Pro (running native, not rosetta), Ventura 13.4.
I have tried a re-install, and removing preferences etc.
Anyone else see this?
Also, is there somewhere I can download the previous version?

Did you reboot your computer?

Update: I have reverted to 11.2.11 and startup is near instantaneous again.

Mmm. Scary... anyone else in the same situation ?

I couldn't wait (because I've got a window right now when I can test and install new stuff).
No issue here on a M1 pro macbook pro running Monterey.
And it seems ok too on an old mid-2012 macbook pro...

A strange thing to notice : I just opened a work in progress session after updating to 11.3, and I'm suprised to see that Live is recalculating all the .asd files.
I didn't noticed they updated also the sample analysis stuff.
So after the update, each session with a lot of recorded audio may take a while to fully open (at least, to fully show the waveforms)...

no issues here either — M1 Pro running the latest Monterey, with Live running in Apple Silicon mode...

Thanks for all the feedback. So it looks like something specific to my setup.

I have the weirdest issue, since 11.3.2 my internet connection breaks when I start it up! Anyone else has this problem?
So I also reverted to the last version that worked and it is all fine.

I haven't heard of this.elmardotdev wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 10:32 amI have the weirdest issue, since 11.3.2 my internet connection breaks when I start it up! Anyone else has this problem?
Would be nice if you could let Support know about this!

Symptom: Live takes approx 45 seconds from launch to be usable, with most of the time spent with "Starting Max.." on the status bar. If you click in the Live UI during this stage, Beachball appears.
My specs:
MacBook Air M1
8 GB RAM
512 SSD
macOS 12.6.5
The prior version of Live 11 had no such issue with the same system.

I've tried all sorts to resolve it. It's happening on my older Intel Macbook with Monteray as well as an M1 Macbook on Ventura. I have reported it to Ableton support, but it's early days.
From the log files, you can clearly see from the timestamps how long it takes to start max.
Latest - Live 11.3.2 (max for live 8.5.4) - 41.4 seconds

Re: Updated to 11.3.2, now sits on "Starting Max.." for ages
It is unfortunate but appears simply that Max, since the 8.5 release, and now bundled in Live 11.3.2 - takes this extra amount of time to launch.lincolnkid wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 6:59 amI've tried all sorts to resolve it. I did some testing with the standalone demo of Max and the same difference in startup time is apparent when launching 8.3.x (instant) to 8.5.x (40+ seconds).
Some threads on the Max forum with similar gripes:

Hopefully a fix is on the way.
