Push 3 "Arrangement View" Concept/Mockup

Post by xRue » Fri May 26, 2023 6:29 am

Image

Here i made a mockup of what an "Arrangement View" could look like if it was ever added to push 3, i always wanted an arrangement view and i feel its a missed opportunity to not have one for the standalone version of the push 3

you could move left to right using the wheel on the right, select and move clips around by moving the wheel and tapping on it

I had a similar idea. from here you could use the jog wheel to select individual tracks and then click to enter it and from here you could just use the note select feature available for clips already to edit things. Or for waves load simpler or anything.

Looks great, I imagined just the same.

I have a funny feeling that it is in the works but not ready yet.

Love this idea.
They would be silly not to consider it seriously

Even as just a quick way to clean up a recorded arrangement and select arrangement clips to edit would be wonderful.

I would hope its not required to buy a Live 12 update. Push 3 (especially the standalone) is a nice penny and I would think something like that should be free especially for standalone users as I'm guessing it is more the standalone users of Push who wants this feature as a controller user would already be on a PC.

And this added functionality would only be for Push users as Ableton only users would use this so they would be essentially be paying for that as well. I would hope this added functionality is a free update for Push users.

While I don't mind it not having it too often, as I honestly don't get to take it away from the studio too much, it would feel nicer being able to actually finish some songs in it without connecting to computer.

I think it would be ok to just even allow Recording Session View performance to Arrangement and be able to play back arrangement (that would be a nice start)

Did someone request this and upload the photo to the Centrecode feature request platform?
Only that way can it get any traction.

Although the ARA2 request is still not acknowledged on it despite the many users asking for many years.

You can already do it, just press Shift+Rec to trigger Arrangement recording...
Then, to play back this Arrangement, just make sure all Session clips are stopped, and press Play.

It's great to see this and would be a really welcome addition to Push 2 & 3.
This is entirely possible already with the Live API as Stray achieved Arrangement editing from the PUSH 1.

Let's hope Ableton implement this soon.

+1 for arranger support. Surprised they wouldn't have this at launch considering this is a big part of the Maschine+ ecosystem, which seems to be a direct competitor to Push (even though Push has a real full featured DAW behind it).

I would be happy with follow actions support to start with, as this lets you construct a "song" arrangement using scene follow actions.

I have been super disappointed as a Push 3 owner that they don’t yet have arrangement view. My Push 3 will continue to collect dust until this feature is meaningfully added.
