Ableton not connecting to the internet?

I installed a m4l device which requires connections to the internet to be activated. I've tried deactivating mac's firewall and deleted all the little snitch rules on my mac. Despite this, the plugin cant seem to be connecting to the internet. Is this a Mac issue or an Ableton issue?
I've tried installing the device via Live demo but the issue remains.
Please help.

Ableton 11.3.2
Device - Stepic Sequencer
Tried contacting the Developer but he claims there's some sort of internal firewall or some app like little snitch blocking network connections. I've tried deactivating the inbuilt firewall and little snitch, no improvements.
