Recording envelope follower changes as automation

Hello!
I have been using the envelope follower in ableton as a rough vocal riding utility for when I start working with vocal tracks (by mapping a gain utility in inverse to the envelope follower control). However, I am not always satisfied by the way the envelope follower reacts to the complete vocal performance and therefore I would like to record the automation and make manual edits to it in the automation view of ableton.
Is there any way that this can be achieved (directly or using some form of workaround)?
