Stop glitching when manually scrubbing?

For sound design, I was manually dragging the mouse back & forth over an audio file, and recording its output.

I have 'permanent scrubbing' on, and am using a 64GB M1 Max Macbook (and 8TB SSD), so have the buffer at 128 (but have tried some other settings)

Is there a way to stop the crackles and pops when dragging the playhead over the file back and forth in Live 11.3.2?

I get the tiny clicks and pops when dragging the playhead or loop section around.
Am i doing something wrong in the settings, or does the file not glitch, and crackle if the source is unwarped?

thanks for any help

I wouldn’t do this with all clips but it might be improved for some clips if you turn on the RAM switch for a few clips. Makes them more quickly accessible by the system.

Great idea, but unfortunately its still the same.
I drag the playhead across the sample and its still glitchy?
