Any way to output automation before notes ?

Post by chapelier fou » Tue Jun 06, 2023 12:51 pm

If you automate a CC from the clip's MidiCtrl tab, and change a CC value at the same time as a note, the CC is output before the note.
If you make a M4L device with just a live.dial that outputs a Midi CC, and do the exact same thing with the dial instead of CC autom, the CC is output after the note.

The order is crucial for some synth controllers. As an example , the 'SLIDE' status of a Roland TB-03, that must be sent before the note.
The only way I found to ensure that notes are sent after the automation is to delay notes with [pipe 0]. Is there a 'cleaner' way ?
