Places - indexing/spinning randomly

After the most recent update, I have noticed the places section is spinning/indexing not just at startup but randomly while working on a track. When this happens the performance is impacted significantly. This happens without my adding/changing folders, when I am working on a track (samples, plugins, already added), seemingly out of no where. I've never had performance issues on my PC and have not changed anything other than the ableton update. any ideas?
