Protected samples from owned packs?

Post by zenkick » Fri Jun 09, 2023 9:51 pm

This doesn't seem fair to me:

"The license to use certain protected samples is missing"

My Push 3 standalone is indeed authorized against my account.

Should this be reported as a bug or is already in the queue?

This particular pack in question is Madder Beatz.

You would have to contact whoever made that Pack, and it looks like a third party.

I understand that (even though I purchased it from Ableton) -- but that's not really the point of my question.

What I'm trying to determine, is when/if the Push 3 Standalone will support content that I legally own and have been able to use in my Desktop version of Live. It does not current permit me to use content that I own.

It seems there should be some parity between the Push's version of Live and the desktop version of Live when it relates to copy protection of samples.

You’re right, there should be parity and I’m guessing that if you were to uninstall this pack and download it again you would see that message on the desktop too. Support is probably the best option to get clarity, but they are so backed up with requests that it will be quite a few days before you hear anything I’m afraid.

That was one reason I suggested contacting the pack creator, they might get back to you quicker and explain why that pack no longer has the same sample license.

Quick follow-up -- I actually installed it for the first time on Live desktop the same day I tried to get it to work on P3S.

It's not a big deal, but I'm sure others will (or are) be in the same boat.

I'll get it into supports queue at some point.
