Push 3 auto-arm broken? Or am I a noob?

Main Problem:
In controller mode, tracks are not auto-arming when selecting via Push interface. Mouse clicks auto arm just fine.
Strangeness 1:
0) Live is running with Push as only control surface
1) Select unarmed track... observe track was NOT auto-armed
2) Arm a track
3) Disarm it
4) Select another track via Push 3... observe track WAS auto-armed
5) Select yet another track via Push 3... observe track was NOT auto-armed
I thought it was working initially, and I broke it somehow, but after more investigation it seems to persist across projects. Exclusive arm is on. Same behavior with and without Push/Push 2 set as control surface (there's no push 3)
Strangeness 2:
1) Add another control surface (launch key mini in my case)
2) Select another track via Push 3... observe track was auto-armed
Am I doing something wrong, or is the Push 3 broken?
Windows 10, Live 11.3.3, Push with latest firmware.

Hi there, here's the expected behaviour:
- In Controller mode, midi tracks auto-arm when Push's pads are in note mode.
- In Standalone, midi AND audio tracks auto-arm when Push's pads are in note mode.
Are you observing something different?

In controller mode + note mode, tracks are not auto-arming.
In standalone mode, they are.
Played around more to find:
1) Switching between layout will arm the track, unless it's a drum rack.
2) Switching from clip to note mode will arm the track.
Worth mentioning, I had two separate problems earlier which may have contributed to this state
1) After transferring a project to Push and switching to standalone, it became stuck in the loading state (Push logo with animated pads). Had to turn off and on.
2) Turning Push on when Live was already running, got stuck in that loading state. Switched to standalone, then back to controller and it worked.

it seems you can arm midi and audio tracks with a longer click on the track selection with push 3.

Yes long press can arm a track. But the expectation is auto-arm should work, just like it does on other controllers.

Did you ever figure this out? Having to long-press every time I switch tracks is not ideal.

No fix yet. Haven't heard back from Ableton in a couple weeks. They had no solution.
I've been putting off doing a factory reset in hopes of a fresh firmware, but maybe I'll just suffer through reloading everything into the system again after a reset later tonight and see how that goes.
In the meantime, I developed muscle memory to switch back and forth between clip and note layout which arms the track.

I had the same problem, but removing all other control surfaces from the settings fixed this issue for me. Now, I don't have to long press on the selected track to arm it, it soft arms automatically.

Hi... I figure the same issue and I am short before withdrawal!
How can I "remove/delete" every controller in the push 3 settings as mentioned above?
Going to Settings/MIDI does not show me anything except the push itself.
I found the issue after connecting the Arturia Keylab 88.
I already "reset" the push.. Unfortunately it does not seems to be a real reset except un-authorizing my user

...
Thanks for any hint!

I have written to Ableton and they can reproduce this problem, I think it will be fixed on next update.
This problem is a real timekiller. There is no solution for me working. It’s very frustrating if you arm some tracks and loose all record focus, by clicking with the mouse in an other midi track.

Well done! Hope Ableton will fix this in the next coming beta,

Ah, thank goodness this isn't just me. It's been driving me mad.
Selecting 'FromPush' and 'ToPush' in the controller settings seemed to fix the problem, but that ended up bringing bigger problems.
See my post here:

Let's hope it gets fixed very soon!
