Malfunctioning knob Push 3

I was wondering if anyone else has an issue with a knob that doesn't work right.

When I try to turn it up sometimes it turns it down first or sometimes it likes to move on its own randomly. If I push down hard it responds better but this really isn't ideal.

Anyone else with a bad knob?

Support tells me its a known issue and might be able to be solved with software update but I'm not so sure!

I'm not saying it ISN'T hardware, but the touch strip was having similar issues and this new beta is supposed to address that, so its not out of the realm of possibility that its a bug? I hope it is just a bug :)

I haven't personally encountered this problem, but some users seemed to complain about the erratic behavior of certain knobs

something like this?

Thats exactly what mine is doing. Except its the 5th knob. Very annoying. Guess I'll wait a bit to see if it can be fixed with software update.

EDIT: looks like they told the guy to send his back.

yeah... if the problem is really software, we can ask ourselves why some users have this problem and others don't...

but there may be some fine-tuning to be done with the sensitive sensors on the knobs.
in my opinion, the problem lies with these sensors
it's perhaps the same problem with the volume and tempo encoders (which for some users have difficulty switching correctly)

I'm wondering if the library they are using (maybe they wrote?) that is interfacing with the hardware needs some tweaking based on what they are now seeing with mass produced hardware from the manufacturer? Like they expected the ranges to be between x and y but they are seeing variances that they now need to allow for. Because I have zero issues with anything, no touch strip, no knob problems, pads, etc. But I might have just gotten components that were built right in spec for their initial configuration.

Pure speculation, but I guess I'm hoping that maybe it really is fixable in software, they just need to adjust for manufacturing variances. Would be very cool to see how they code it.

That link was already posted and replied to just a couple posts earlier in this thread.

OP I would suggest contacting support so they can help you narrow down if this is a hardware issue or not.

Mine is experiencing the same issue. Can anyone share how others have resolved this?

Mine has been doing this since I purchased it a year ago and I just got back into using it and I thought the new 12.1beta might fix it and its still doing the jumping around on knob 1. I contacted support and they just told me to "check your cables" and "make sure your OS is updated". I replied back that I checked those and I'm using the cables it came with and its all plugged in correctly and my OS is fully updated. It's still under warranty so I'm hoping they let me send it in for repairs or send me a new one or something...
