Hi everyone,

When I export tracks one by one out of an Ableton session, some of the WAV files I get have exactly the same volume as the original tracks (no matter if they originally are midi or audio) and some DON’T. Usually those "volume-changed" stems have a lower volume. It’s quite annoying, because then I need to check volumes one by one to get exactly the same mix as my original session.

Does anyone know how I can avoid that?

Do you have 'Normalize' checked when exporting? Maybe those tracks had some peaks going into the red and were normalized to 0dB?

"Normalize" is always unchecked when I bounce tracks.

What software are you opening the volume changed tracks in when you listen back to them?

I’m actually listening to it in the same Ableton session. I sometimes do that because my CPU is struggling with too many effects and plug-ins. But I think I found the reason of my problem: my MASTER volume was set at minus 5; if you export any stem while the master volume is positive or negative, and then drag and drop the resulting WAV file into the same session, the bounced stem will sound louder/lower than the original stem.
