Recording audio from iPhone to Push 3 via built-in audio interface

Hey everyone,
kind of a noob question. How am i supposed to record a "normal' audio from my iPhone into the Push directly?
Current setup iPhone -> dongle -> 3,5mm stereo cable -> 6,5mm stereo adapter -> audio interface (1)
The result sounds horrible and also there's a lot of information in the audio missing. It's squeaking and just sounds bad.
Why does it happen and why does it not happen, when i plug in my headphones into the dongle?
Looking forward for some help and information

.
Thanks!

What's this 6.5mm stereo adapter you mention? Just a single stereo TRS jack plug?
The Push inputs are mono left and right, so you need to split the signal into two mono jacks.

Might help to make sure the volume coming out of the iPhone is sufficient too.

It sounds like you have a lightning->2.5mm (1/8") stereo adapter already (eg. to use normal headphones.)
You'll need to get a
2.5mm (1/8") stereo male to two 6.5mm (1/4") mono, which will break out the L and R signals (or something comparable that will accomplish the same thing.)
Then tweak your gain stages -- you have two: the headphone output on the phone and the interface input level.
If you get a nasty buzz, it's likely because of a very cheaply made lightning->2.55mm stereo adapter -- try another brand.

Thank you! I will give it a try
