Aggregated MAC device reliable?
Is combining audio interfaces as an Mac aggregated device reliable?

I’ve found it’s 100% reliable for 90% of the time. Great if you’re at home but I wouldn’t gig with it.
Never had a problem with ADAT though if that’s an option.

I used to have MOTU M2 and M4 as aggregate and had zero problems.

the operating system is creating a virtual audio device and so no, it's not as reliable as a single interface.
i also wouldn't rely on an aggregate device in a live sound scenario...
