Can't get my 18i20 to work with Push 3

I have a Focusrite 18i20 audio interface which I'm trying to connect to my Push 3 Standalone, but it's just not working.

So I've connected them with two ADAT cables, and sync is working (lock indicator on the Scarlet is lit), so I assume the cables are OK. I've also set both devices to the same sample rate (48kHz), also tried 44.1kHz.

I've tried to set the clock source on the Scarlet to both ADAT and internal.

The Scarlet "Digital I/O mode" is set to "Mode 1: Coaxial (RCA) S/PDIF", which is the factory default.

Not really much one can configure, and I've tried every setting. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

Is it possible to get a clock sync, but still have a faulty cable?

ADAT does not work over coaxial RCA cables, only via optical toslink cables:

So either you’re using the wrong kind of cable, or you need to change that setting to something other than RCA SPDIF.

As tarekith said, you need to be using fiber optic (optical) cables with toslink connectors on either end, not coaxial copper with BNC or RCA connectors. it sounds like you're using the correct cables, since you describe them as adat cables. Having never used an 18i20, I would assume there is a different digital I/O mode you can set that would be described using the words "ADAT," "TOSLINK," "LIGHTPIPE," "FIBER OPTIC," and/or "OPTICAL" (worth noting that any mode labeled "S/PDIF" is the incorrect mode, as S/PDIF and ADAT are completely separate and incompatible protocols [regardless of intercompatible optical cabling])
