I can't get an answer from support, so figured I'd ask here.

Just got my Push, it refuses to update on device -- like, it processes the update, and then when it reboots it just hangs with the octave keys solid/breathing. After it couple of restarts, it'll revert to the older software (which was 1.0.1).

I signed up for the Beta site, and was able to sideload 1.1.1 official on it. However, from there, trying to update to 1.1.2 on device led to the same hanging issue. So it reverted to 1.1.1. I've also tried to sideload this latest Beta on it, and it has the same hanging issue.

It almost feels like the underlying OS needs to be re-imaged; but right now I'm within the 30 days and can't get answers from support. Wondering if I should just return, or if there's some other solution that I haven't tried?

What happens when you type 'push.local/update' in your computer browser? Do you get a response of your Push 3 with a 6-digit code? If yes, in that case you can browse to the beta firmware on your PC and install it.

That's not normal behaviour. I assume you already did factory reset? (shift-software)

I updated and downgraded the firmware a few times and never had any problem with it. Hope that Abelton Support can help you.

Support is on the slower side lately, sorry, but they’ll get back to you.

You mean “shift-user” when powering on? Yes, I did that — unfortunately it appears not to be a full factory reset. I don’t think it wipes the drive and installs a fresh factory image, but rather just resets user preferences and authorizations.

Unless there’s another way I’m missing?

I mean <shift> when <sofware> is chosen from the settings. 'Reset Push to factory setting'

Did you try using ethernet connection instead?
Or using a phone/tablet rather than your computer?

Could do; although the issues isn’t getting the firmware on the device — whether doing the standard on-device update or side loading via the push.local/update url, it completes the download and unpacking. It's when it reboots that it hangs.

How am I supposed to update Push ?
It says it's up to date but runs 1.1.2.

I am having a similar problem. I have the tethered Push 3.

Push displays a message that states "Connect Push to a computer and open Live to make music."

It has displayed this message ever since I plugged it in. Nothing else in that screen above the pads.

I am connected.

I'm using a USB-C to USB adapter - does that make a difference?

When I turn Push on, and Live is not running, the octave pads are not on, but the above message is there. Then, when I open Live, the octave pads turn on. White and "breathing". So that would tell me it's detecting Live....?

In Preferences, Push 3 is not shown in the list of drop-down of control surfaces, but under that section, in the MIDI Ports section, it does say now (after upgrading to Live 11.3.10 today) , that there are two Push 3 MIDI inputs and outputs. It did not have that before I upgraded to Live 11.3.10.

Updating to Live 11.3.10 did not help to make Push usable, though. I went to my laptop right after I received the Live 11.3.10 update notice in e-mail from Ableton. I was hoping that was what was needed to make Push work.

I'm concerned about the technical support wait times as well. The clock is ticking.

Well, in fact after upgrading...it didn't update.
