I cant seem to get a Drum Rack to work.

Hi Guys!!

I am a newbie to my Novation Launchpad X and am having trouble setting up a Drum Rack. I have watched many YouTube videos and still have troubles.

Sometimes I can get a drum item and it will assign a color to a button on the Launchpad, but, the button has a "Lag" rather than being an "Instant" sound when I press the button.

Here is an image of the Ableton Lite screen and another image of the Launchpad X.





Can anyone offer me some tips to fix this problem?

Launchpad has different pages for different modes. You’re in Session mode for launching Clips, not for triggering the drum rack.

By default, clip triggering is based on the global quantization. So it’ll ‘wait’ to start until the next downbeat.

The Clip will only make sound if there are notes in it that trigger drum slots.

I’d recommend YouTube for an explanation of the basic functions of the Launchpad.
