Smaller Loop Region

There are times when I just want to punch in a short section of audio, and I'm limited by the loop region minimum of 1 beat. For the record, I don't want to actually loop very short sections of audio, I just want to be able to record (punch in, punch out) short sections of audio. If you have to disable the loop function for sections shorter than 1 beat, that's fine with me. But having punch in/out married to the loop region and the loop region limited to 1 beat or longer hurts productivity.
