The biggest sin of DAWs is building in 12TET western music as the default, built-in and often unchangeable setting.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12_equal_temperament
Music across the world uses all kinds of other intervals, in fact even music in the west has used other intervals in the past.
Right now the whole world of computer music has this restriction and formatting, but so much more could be done here
Temperament/scale systems should be something you set much like the colour of the UI or your midi devices.
This is about boxing in art, cultural colonialism
There are ways around it but it is all workarounds, third party plugins, and a general mess of things you have to do
This is not right
I really hope Ableton 12 resets the stage here and fully integrates a change like this at every level of the UX
First-class Support for non-western music (microtonal non-12TET intervals and scales systems)

Re: First-class Support for microtonal non-12TET non-western music interval scales systems
Imagine if computers across the world could only speak one language: English
You had to write in English by default
If you wanted to write in Japanese or Turkish, you had to download third party software, hack around with your keyboard settings, everything had poor support
Such is the case with 12TET and DAWs today
It is really a tragedy
