MacOS Sonoma - Ableton & Others + Third Party External Test SSD
Posted: Tue Oct 17, 2023 7:36 pm
So I have installed Sonoma on an External SSD to test the OS before migrating from Ventura. (on an M1 Mac Studio)
Here is my list of owned software (all up to date - no fricking warez) that so far works fine. I haven't the time to do extensive tests other than opening them up and fiddling with each for a few minutes.
Works fine:
Arturia - V Collection 9, FX Collection, Acid V and others
Celemony - Melodyne Studio
Native Instruments - Reaktor, Massive, Massive X, Komplete Kontrol
iZotope - Ozone 9 Advanced
reFx - Nexus4
Roli - Connect, Equator 2, Studio Player, Drums
Phil Speiser - Instrument, Pattern, Shaper, Strip
112db - Monitor, Redline Reverb 2
AudioRealism - Bass Line
Sonic Charge - MicroTonic, Synplant 1
Sugar Bytes - Obscurium, Looperator, Egoist, Drum Computer, Turnado
FabFilter - Pro Q3, Pro MB
CableGuys - ShaperBox XL & 3, HalfTime, KickStart 2
PSP Audioware - Vintage Warmer 2
Algonaut - Atlas
OrbPlugins - Producer Ste
Lennar Digital - Sylenth1
Spectrasonics - Omnisphere 2, Triliian, Stylus RMX
Xfer - Serum
Rob Papen - Explorer 8 Bundle
Korg - M1, Wavestation
u-he - Diva, Zebra
Audiomodern - Riffer, Playbeat 3, Loopmix etc
K-Devices - WOV, TATAT
KV331 - SynthMaster 2
Mixed In Key - Captain Plugins Epic
Baby Audio - Transit (this shit is cool)
FXpansion - Cypher2, Strobe2
DAWS that work
Steinberg Cubase 12
Reason 12
FL Studio 21.1.1.3352
And what doesn't work for me:
Native Instruments - Maschine 2 - Scanning issues with various Arturia plugins.
annnndddd....
ABLETON LIVE 11.3.12
I get this "DISK IMAGE COULDN'T BE OPENED, The operation couldn't be completed. Permission denied" error on a new install.
So if it weren't for Ableton, I may have been already migrated to the new OS. Until this problem is resolved, I can't do shit.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix, please let me know. However my guess is that the next iteration of the Live .dmg file may resolve it - I don't know. This is why I don't wanna bork the Mac SSD.
Hope this helps any of you wishing to move on to Sonoma.
