Tempo Change from clip in Session View?

Hey There

I'm doing a live score for a dance perfoemance, and I have different scenes set up as the play progresses.

I wonder if there's any way to change the scene tempo as soon as one clip from that scene is launched rather than launching the whole scene to change the tempo.

Right now, I have a "Cue Tempo" scene so that the new tempo is set up for each new segment, and it's pretty cumbersome to have to do that manually.

Any suggestions for a different workflow are also welcome! Thanks so much

Alexis

Not that easy. There's solutions but they're not straightforward.
I'm pretty sure Isotonik has M4L devices that can help, there's probably some on maxforlive.com too.
But I'm tempted to say ClyphX is probably the quickest answer, since you're mentioning "dance performance" and that it probably means you'll need many more workarounds that ClyphX can achieve without delving into M4L patching/customisation.

[edit 2mn later] Maybe you could just make use of the clip slots' "remove the stop/play" buttons (cmd+e) feature?
You would have:
- - - -- - - - The currently playing scene @ 100bpm

Clip

Wait, let me do a screenshot, words are too hard!

Whoa, thank you so much, jur!

I have a similar setup - created "dummy" scenes with tempo changes.
I also forgot an important detail, which is that I'm running the session from a push 3, so I am working it all out.

Much appreciated, and I'll report back!

Cheers
