Ableton Forum

Hi,

Seemingly overnight my ableton DAW stopped registering incoming audio via de focusrite 18i8. A day back it all worked. I can send/receive midi from the devices, and in focusrite control I can monitor the incoming audio ( which is complete normal audio). In Ableton it seems like the sound is incredibly low, and perhaps scrambled. Sometimes you hear vaguely what is going on. I have a bunch of devices in the all stopped working. As far as I know I have checked everything in Ableton (didnt change anything either). Also when I blast all my devices to ableton and monitor audio directly then still no sound. Has there been an update last few days? Im running latest MACOS OS.

Any tips, advice are welcome.

After some more investigations. I noticed that I.e. audacity is able to record incoming audio. In ableton - USB audio in works as well. I can also record my microphone if I use that as input device. But recording from a line-in doesn’t work properly. The sound level is really low. And it crackles somehow. Does someone have an idea where to search? It’s a baffling problem.
