My PC developed a problem yesterday. It just suddenly started making crackling noises during playback. I recently bought a new Focusrite interface and it's been fine. I swapped over to another working interface and the same problem occurred. I plugged the headphones directly into the PC and the audio was fine. I downloaded another Focusrite driver and it did massively improve the sound, but not 100%.

I haven't changed any buffering or sample settings.

Tried different headphones.

Any thoughts?

Since it only happens when you are using your new focusrite interface, I would suggestion reaching out to them as well to see if they have any ideas.

Thanks for the reply. In addition, both audio interfaces were working fine until yesterday.
