Push 3 - No Drum Rack Sounds Triggered

I have an odd issue with Push 3 and drum racks.
I can access the drum sequencer with no issues and I can program the beats in the sequencer no issues. When i press play I can hear the sequence play with no issues. However, there are a few things I cannot do.
1. Change the pad that I need to use to sequence ie move from the kick pad to the snare pad just by pressing the pad
2. There is no sound triggered when I press the pad to hear the sound
I can move between the pads using the arrows and add and remove notes in the sequencer with no issues. But the two issues above are a bit of a pain. Any ideas how to fix it?
