"Relative" modulation with M4L

A quick question: is there a way to get “relative” modulation with m4l sequencers and lfos? For example I map sequencer to control filter cutoff and now it just tells the synth exact filter cutoff value, but what I want is still have control over cutoff with synth slider and get modulation from sequencer or lfo with a range control (just like on modular synth when you patch seq to a filter and have cv amount knob).
Is it possible somehow?

Actually, it is how most of the synthesizers work, and I guess there's a way to do it in Ableton, just not sure how.
