Repeat last command for all tracks/selected tracks

Is this possible? I'd like to be able to make a change on a track, and then use a command to make that same change on all tracks or a selected group of tracks. I know I can use the Master to make an effect affect all tracks, but there are circumstances where I need effects or plugins to be on tracks individually, and it would be nice if I didn't have to go through and add them to each track one by one. Hope this isn't a dumb idea.
