L12 question about Wavetable to which the answer is probably no

Post by Angstrom » Wed Dec 13, 2023 2:05 pm

In L12, the Wavetable mod matrix - can we access those routing percentages in the automation envelopes now?
or are they still not automatable?

It's a bit odd and limiting specifically for Wavetable, because a lot of quite basic assignments are there - such as Envelope Depth->Filter . Which in even basic synths is accessible for automation.

(note: what I do is automate "peak", which is accessible)

Nope...
That's also something I've always wanted.

It's a strange omission, though I can understand that adding 120 (or whatever it is) new automation envelopes seemed like a bad idea.

My suggestion would be to do it how Arturia do on their Freak range. Allow an alias to a percentage within the mod-matrix. So when selecting a percentage such as "Env 2-> Osc Pos" it could instantiate a column on the right called "Depth Mod". Depth Mod columns could be automated. If a percentage is set in a Depth Mod column it persists, but if no value is added there then it can vanish ( as with the current mod target dynamic instantiation of columns)

this sort of thing

Definitely!

I'm moving this to the FW.
