Ableton Forum

On an unsaved project, I try to save or save as, either using the buttons in the "file" dropdown menu or by using cmd + S or cmd + shift + S, and nothing happens. The project does not save, no dialog box pops up. When I cmd + S the file button (top left corner of the screen) highlights for a second like I did something, but nothing happens after that.

This has happened to me at least once or twice before, and I end up shutting off Ableton because I have no other choice and I lose my project. So frustrating! I would love to save this project - it has recorded audio that I can't reproduce.

I'm running:
Ableton 11 Live Suite 11.3.13 Build: 2023-10-17_b376a4ffe2
Macbook Pro 14 inch 2021 Apple M1 chip 16gb
MacOS Monterey 12.5.1

I just tried exporting as well. When I click the export button same thing, nothing happens. The export window just stays open.

My Ableton is authorized, my memory is not full, and I don't have anti virus software running. I barely have anything installed on my computer besides Ableton since this is a pretty new laptop. I've recorded and saved over one hundred projects no problem, just every now and then, this happens. Seems to me like this is a bug occurring in Ableton.

Hi, If I remember correctly MacOS requires that you grant Ableton Live the necessary access rights on the drives.
