Sometimes in projects I use drum loops which are already compressed which sound real good. The loops are usually a kick with percussion and sometimes a hi hat. I always sidechain the bass and in this case the entire drum loop. I think I know the answer to this but anyway I thought of adding just a kick drum on another track and get it to sound somewhat like the kick drum in the loop. Once I'm close then instead of using the drum loop and bass to sidechain can't I use the just the kick drum and the bass to get good separation but MUTE the kick drum in the mix??
