there's LFO2 by RobertHenke https://www.roberthenke.com/technology/lfo.html . this somewhat can do it ,usable but modulation that actually gets recorded especialy sine wave does't look like sine but broken Triangle rather. reaper records it smoothly . there's something not quite right with midi resolution in Live . without floating away from the subject anybody actually tested recording modulation in MIDI 2 . Logic 10.8 and Cubase 13 has MIDI 2 . MIDI association says that automation resolution in MIDI 2 is dramatically improved and it is audiorate - like . very smooth
