How to work with Simpler (aka Simpler feels a bit unfinished)

Post by distantnoise » Thu Feb 08, 2024 9:09 am

I wonder if there are solutions to the points I'm going to mention, or if those are missing features/bugs.

(a) I normally slice my samples in Simpler manually. But Live does not like that, it seems. After dropping a new sample into Simpler (while Slice-Mode is on) it always turns back to "Slice by Transient". It is highly annoying and time-consuming that one has to switch back to "Slice by Transient". Of course, I do not expect that the slice points will be kept, but I want an unsliced starting point.

(b) How to swap just a sample via Push 3? Always when I hot-swap I just get a complete new instance of Simpler and all settings are lost.

set Simpler how you like it. Right Click on top of Simpler > Click "Save as default Preset"
copy the text, open Live > drag in empty M4L device > open Max editor > paste > save M4L device
