Ableton Live 11 and RTX GC

Post by pol9 » Fri Feb 16, 2024 8:17 pm

Good morning,

I have a brand new machine; Intel core i7 2700, 16 GB DDR4 RAM, Nvidia RTX 4060ti and live 11.3.21.
I just noticed this:
When launching live, the second live window costs 30% of the 3D GPU (?!). Just one, not even 1%..
Both screens are HDMI and have the same resolution: 1920*1080.
When we swap the "Session" and "Arrangement" screens, the GPU peaks follow the same ratio.
With only one window, the “Arrangement” screen takes up 25% of the GPU.
I would like to point out that no project is loaded. It's Live all by itself.
Is Live half-optimized?

second observation:
By following a tutorial on YT to do "undervolting" with the RTX 4060 graphics card, I noticed that when loading a project, Live was no longer able to put the samples in the buffer and the loading remained blocked.
By resetting the RTX to its default values, Live was able to load the project correctly.
What is the relationship between graphics card voltage settings and successful loading of a project in Live?
Frankly, I wonder about the good health of software which costs more and more and which behaves more and more ineptly.
