Updating Packs for Live 12 is using as much disk space as new install (SOLVED)

I see a lot of packs that have been updated for Live 12.
I'll use Mood Reel as an example, which is already installed on my system from a previous version of Live. My Finder shows 161.29 GB before updating and 156.04 GB after updating. Mood Reel is about 4.6GB. I see the updated dates of the Pack files after I update so it look like it worked. Shouldn't my disk usage show about the same size after updating, instead of what I would expect after installing for the first time? Are there temporary install files that are not getting deleted after updating? I am seeing this issue with other packs as well. Thanks - John

The installers might still be mounted, if you’re using macOS. In Windows they could be temps. Either way, try a reboot to see if the OS claims the space back

Doh!

Live does not delete the .ALP file after installing the packs. Instead, Live puts them in the trash. You need to empty the trash to get back your disk space.
