CC Control MIDI Effect is missing in Live 12 ?

After installing Live 12, Standard I found CC Control MIDI effect is missing.
It is listed as included in all versions.
I did an extensive search in the folders and filters.
Is this a bug?.
Anyone else with the same issue?

Its a pack that needs to be installed.

No it's not a separate pack at all, it's part of Live's core MIDI effects.
If it's not showing up in the MIDI effects folder for you, then you should re-authorize Live (Preferences → License Maintenence)

If it's still not showing up after that I would recommend you get in touch with Ableton Support

Another thing that can cause this is if you still have Live 11 open when you installed Live 12. In that case, you should close both open versions and then re-open Live 12 only. Then hopefully the device will show up

- I didnt have open Live 11 when I installed Live 12.
- Yes, indeed It is no a separate pack
- I did my authorization correctly. Everything is in place, just CC control is missing.

I know from other 2 friends they have exactly the same issue. So very probably it is a bug.

- So, then, I would try to get in touch with Ableton Support.

Here is the response from Ableton Support:

Live can only build its database if only one instance of Live is running, so if you have an earlier version of Live opened, this will prevent Live 12 from properly setting up. Make sure you quit all versions of Live before running Live 12 and a computer restart could also help in case there are background processes such as the indexer hanging in the background.

Building the database is an expensive process that requires time and resources. This requires scanning and indexing of any file in your Core Library, User Library, Places, and Packs. Depending on how much content you have, this can take several hours. If you quit Live during this process, the process will restart the next time you open Live so allow time for this to happen, and don't quit if you miss content.

I followed the instructions, but unfortunately, CC Control MIDI effect is still mising in my MIDI effect list.

I'm in the same boat as you.

I contacted the support that asked me to reset the database.

After resetting the database, uninstalling everything I could Live 11 and reopening Live 12, I could see very briefly the CC Control Midi effect appearing in the effect list when Live 12 is loading then disappearing just after the full loading...

I'm still waiting answers from the support.

@Fakemark, i received an additional response from Ableton support to try re-authorizing Live and see if this unlocks the device. But it didn´t work. The problem remains. BTW in my case I don´t see very briefly the CC Control Midi effect appearing. I even recorded the screen to see in slow motion, but no.

Let´s look forward for answers from the support.

I TOO have been anxiously awaiting use of the new CC Control. Alas, it reveals itself but momentarily, upon fresh install of Core Library (or reset of database), only to vanish again, like a fart in the wind.

Please, Ableton...use all your powers. All your skills. I MUST HAVE MY CC CONTROL.

I made the preset in Suite, but according to this page, the device is also available in Intro and Standard.

I confirm the same behavior that Ishkash described: when opening the .adv file you shared, i have a Live information window that appears : "This device is not available in this version of Live". And yet, I purchased the "Standard" version of Live 12 as an upgrade to Live 11.

Anyway, thanks to you we nailed that the problem is a licensing issue.

Furthermore, I noticed that my past order for Live 11 Standard Upgrade does not appear in this list https://www.ableton.com/en/account/order-history/, even if I purchased it in the past as my Serial Numbers list shows it : https://www.ableton.com/en/account/.

I contacted the Ableton support with this additional information.

Ok, I have the final word about this issue, from the Ableton support:

"We've discovered an issue with the CC Control Device with Live Standard users where the device is not available due to a licence related problem on our end.

This issue will be fixed in the next Live update of Live 12.0.5 as the device is currently only available to Suite users.
Unfortunately, we do not have a workaround for the meantime for Standard users and we kindly ask for your patience until the new version gets released."
