I did try to disable warping in preferences. You cant turn off short samples - what ever they are. And you cant turn off midi stretching.
I agree with you that Ableton is first a fore most a package that has an arrange window expecting it to be used the way you describe.
And that is great if you are making beats and loops out of samples etc - and playing in midi loops. Push is really good for that too. I wanted to miix that sort of thing with recorded audio - and not always in 4/4 And with different length loops etc. Thats where the whole package doesnt work so well.

Yeah i agree with you about the midi warp markers. Those were introduced in 9 i believe, and they always slowed down my workflow. Now with 12, they are pretty much obsolete, because all the warping is done with the new midi generators.

Really, thats good to know. I wasn't going to bother upgrading - maybe there is more to it than I thought..
