i just run into the same problem with Flstudio, they do offer an offline download for the html version.

If we dont get a pdf version, why not offer the html version for offline use?
like make all html pages offline ready, zip it and we can use it offline in our browsers.

i totally get having a pdf version is a lot work, even if its written in LaTeX.

I dont have internet everytime i work with Live, its just stupid to force people to be always online - its simply also a distraction question, putting not having internet always aside here.

So yeah what happens now with the manual?!

I mean, that all 'New Features' and 'Feature Improvements' are decribed here.
BUT: I really prefere a real manual (PDF, HTML) related to all features of the current version and you don't have to look for all the information in different places

I guess times are changing.

An actual book format like pdf or kindle seems to best for really reading something, over a web page even on a smartphone, but maybe that's because we are more familiar with books.

I guess if the online manual was more interactive, video links, exercises, quizzes etc maybe the web page would be more helpful.

I could see the manual evolving to that.

That's not what I stated. I just said that the topic is on the radar.

Doesn't on the radar mean it is coming, but might take a while?
Having it off line and as one document rather than broken up makes it harder to just read at leisure when travelling.

What would be helpful is a "whats new in Live 12" section, that links to the relevant page in the online manual.
The only new feature I found quickly was the new browser, but even then I didn't find the similarity search etc. Right now what you have to do is go look at the separate "what's new" web page, then get some search terms, hope they're similar enough worded in the online manual to search for..

I seriously do not recall the manual being so far behind release as this one is?

I'd also like to put in a good word for having a PDF manual— I'd really like to print it out and keep it handy, and go in-depth in a way that's hard with web pages. (I realize it takes extra work to lay out— but please do consider it! Thx. )
