Reverb CPU sends returns groups

Post by labtec7777 » Fri Mar 15, 2024 7:28 am

Hi guys
I'm a novice
I'm confused about sends and returns and groups.
In Ableton I'm using vst Lores
It's heavy on reverbs and CPU very high.
Best way please to reduce CPU?
Do I turn down reverb within patch in(Lores)?
How do you process this please?
Appreciate you all

Does Lores have a reverb "quality" option? Try tweaking that, as well as lower polyphony amount.

What's your sample rate and buffer size set to? A higher buffer can help manage the cpu load, as well as a higher sample rate (just go up to 48k imo). If your machine is a bit outdated then it will simply have trouble being able to run lots of nice effects and vsts and whatnot. Maybe not what you want to hear but an upgrade may be appropriate.

Alternatively, you can print the audio and that will take a lot of pressure off your cpu, downside is you won't be able to interact with the instrument in real time for improv etc.
